Welcome to the 2011 Lady Lake Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber staff, headed by its Executive Director, Peggy Hayes and her assistant, Jackie Cook, are here to work for you, and are extremely accommodating in assisting newcomers in bringing referrals to your business with the many calls that the Chamber receives on a daily basis.
Our Past President, Tom Loury along with our Board of Directors, have instituted many changes to the Chamber, opening up doors for local businesses through the Chamber’s Business Expo, which has been an excellent event for both Chamber, and non-Chamber businesses to showcase their products or services to the residents of Lady Lake and The Villages. The Chamber also worked with the Town Officials to make changes that make sense for its members.
We are suffering extremely hard economic times and it’s been very difficult for many businesses to keep their head above water. This is where being a Chamber member makes the most sense. We have the benefit of having a series of workshops, monthly business contact breakfasts and business after hours, which feature speakers to assist us in making the changes that we need to survive.
Many of us have read the book “Who Moved My Cheese”, by Dr. Spencer Johnson, and if you haven’t, this book should be on the top of your list of reading materials. It’s a very short book with two different mice trying to find their cheese. One of the mice didn’t like change so it never found its “cheese”. The second mouse adapted to the change and succeeded in finding its “cheese”. This book is an excellent example of how we need to change our outlook and adapt those changes to meet the economic times.
The Lady Lake Chamber of Commerce offers a wide variety of services to assist local business members to succeed in this market and is continually working hard to find new benefits to offer our membership.
